Just got mine so good

I just got mine can’t tell date . It has usb-c and works very good

As a follow-up to those viewing this vid since its posting 8 years ago, and it's hard to fathom that 8 years can pass so quickly, wondering if Tom ever secured his OEM Grundig 9 volt DC AC power adapter, well he did because I was able to get ahold of one and sent it his way. Keep up the great work Tom. Live long and prosper!

Hi Tom, I bought this little radio more years ago than I thought! I have had it in my closet in a bag, and had not charged it in at least 4 years. Got it out, turned it on, and it is still charged! It's a quirky little radio, but I like it! 73, Brett K5WXP

You're right - audio is impressive, independent of its compact size. I also like the fact that they labeled it "radio" so we know what it is, lol.

I had one like that I got from the thrift store now I know nothing about vintage radio equipment but if had several issues but worked I think it had a Compassator that went bad though

Clicking with the knob is great as it allows precision on the SW band to get the frequency accurate

A radio basically from my childhood. I remember those, they used to be great but being what they were, they got very warm. In my cold shack in the wintertime, that would be great. My sister used to own a set like this one.

I met Jeff via the sale of this neat radio to him. We’ve stayed in touch and when I see a radio I think he’d want to know about I’ll send him a picture. This specific radio was owned by a fellow who would sit, chain smoke and listen to the Tigers baseball games on. Being in metro Detroit we’re a Tiger town. The memories it created for his daughter were lasting. Sadly she had it sitting in her garage for years, she was in her 70’s when I became friends with her. I bought it from her and used it as a “decoration piece” for a long time. I’d plug it in to hear a Tiger game. While I’m not a huge sports fan, the comfort of the crackle and the sound of the AM transmission was so heartwarming. But it was time to allow another person to enjoy it and Jeff saw my MP ad, what a perfect person to buy it. He had it’s age issues properly addressed and now it will likely out last all of us! Thank you each for rescuing and restoring this little piece of Americana. I suspect my kids will get a kick out of watching this video.

I got a good deal on this one. In good condition, but a bit tired looking. I cleaned it up, polished it, and took it to “The Florida Radio Doctor “[ Mark Minor], for repair work. It did work, but had an issue ,[ what is called Silver Mica Disease]. The radio should work for another few decades. 📻😁

Hello sir. I really liked your video. My name is Jorge, I am SWL and I live in Spain. I have a technical question to ask you about this scanner. I like to listen to the International Space Station (ISS) and the radio amateurs making contacts through their repeater on 437,800 MHz. I have a Realistic Pro-2006 and a Diamond X-30 antenna for it. The question is simple but I can't find accurate information on this question, so it's better to ask. The ISS has its downlink frequency at 437,800 MHz, where you can hear radio amateurs talking. In the pro-2006 I can memorize, for example, these 3 frequencies: 437.795, 437.800 and 437.805. Those three memories are due to the Doopler effect of the ISS. The question is whether in the 780XLT you can also program, for example, those 3 frequencies in steps of 5 KHz (?), using the VFO or by directly entering the different frequencies... I ask because the UHF steps I have read are 12.5 KHz. I want you to understand what I mean. Thank you very much in advance for any information. Have a nice day and 73.

What is the difference between the Tecsun H-501 and H-501x? * The H-501 is for North American users there is basically no difference between the two. * The H-501x, is for the European, Asian and African continents. Of course you can use the H-501 for overseas reception as well. H-501x makes it a little easier to adjust certain settings to better match the SW and LW frequency range and FM tuning step conditions in for the European, Asian and African continents.

Just picked up one of these of ebay for 40.00. Nice and clean, well taken care of.
